COPENHAGUE / PEKIN, 15 juin 2012 : Le drapeau du Tibet au rendez-vous pour accueillir HU Jintao..
China's president Hu Jintao was today confronted with the Tibetan flag during his visit to Denmark
Press release
15 June 2012
Despite heavy security presence, the three organisers of this evening's rally for a free Tibet in Copenhagen succeeded in hoisting a Tibetan flag in three balloons as the Chinese president passed through the harbour of Copenhagen onboard the royal ship of the Danish queen, Margrethe II.

The Tibetan flag is banned in China and Tibet and flying it usually results in heavy prison sentences.
We were also present when the president arrived at the Little Mermaid, a famous statue that travelled to China last year for the World Expo. Three activists showed the Tibetan flag and shouted "Free Tibet" as Hu's motorcade rolled by at a distance of only 2 meters.
The Danish Primeminister, Mrs. Helle Thorning-Schmidt, has told the Danish press that she will not raise the issue of Tibet (but only Human Rights in general) when she meets Hu tomorrow morning. Because of that, we feel that it is our responsibility to demonstrate to the Chinese president - who is responsible for China's failed policies in Tibet for the last two decades - that the Danish people oppose China's harsh repression and the continued illegal occupation of Tibet.
