According to the latest update, Ngawang Norphel has since been
admitted into a military hospital in Xining, the provincial capital
of Qinghai Province. The two monks who were sent from Silkar
Monastery to help him have been forbidden entry into the hospital.
They are now said to be at the hospital gate where soldiers stand
guard. Tridu, the place where the self-immolations took place is
reported to be under heavy military surveillance and presence.
Friends and relatives of the two self-immolators are said to be
taken into police custody for interrogation. Monks from Silkar
monastery, where Ngawang Norphel was tended to immediately after
after the self-immolations are also reported to be under heavy
police surveillance and their movements restricted.

Il s'exprime de manière entrecoupée, due sans aucun doute à la souffrance physique intenable dans laquelle il se trouve. Néanmoins, il exprime de façon très forte et à plusieurs reprises son désespoir face à la situation au Tibet.
Des interventions extérieures et des paroles courtes sont incompréhensibles. Voici toutefois les propos que nous avons pu retranscrire :


"Si j'ai choisi l'auto-immolation, c'est pour exprimer ma souffrance. Je suis désespéré devant la situation.

Qu'est-il advenu de mon Tibet ?
Où est donc passé le Tibet ?
Où est passé notre pays des neiges ?

Nous avons besoin de liberté. Nous avons besoin de pouvoir parler notre langue, le tibétain. Nous avons besoin d'exprimer notre culture.

Autrement qui sommes-nous? Sommes-nous Tibétains, sommes-nous Chinois? Je vous le demande, sans liberté, sans notre langue, sans liberté d'expression culturelle, qui pouvons-nous être? Quelle culture pourrait exister sans cela?

Nous avons besoin de la liberté. Ce que nous souhaitons, c'est la paix.

J'espère de tout mon cœur que les Tibétains puissent être fiers d'eux-mêmes, fiers d'être Tibétains.

Puissions-nous trouver la paix!
