The screening of Wisdom of Happiness on October 20, 2024, in Woodstock, New York, was a significant and well-attended event for the Tibetan community from New York and New Jersey. Around 170 Tibetan people from the New York-New Jersey Tibetan Community gathered to celebrate the film, produced by Barbara Miller, Philip Delaquis, and Manuel Bauer in collaboration with Richard Gere and Oren Moverman.
As a gesture of appreciation, Tibetan community representatives presented ceremonial scarves (khadas) to filmmakers Oren Moverman and Barbara Miller, with both the president and secretary delivering thank-you speeches. Due to the large turnout, which exceeded the venue’s capacity, Oren Moverman and Barbara Miller arranged additional screenings outside the venue using laptops, ensuring that those who couldn’t fit inside could still watch the film.
In the evening, the filmmakers gave heartfelt speeches, and (TCNYNJ) expressed deep gratitude to all attendees for their enthusiasm. Special thanks were extended to those who voluntarily made donations to the Tibetan Community of New York and New Jersey (TCNYNJ) for bus transport, hartfelt thanks to Tashi kyel Buddhist center for arranging the tea, reflecting the strong sense of community and support at the event.
